With 23 years in the bridal beauty industry, I founded Something Blue Stylists in 2007 with a mission to deliver not just beautiful work—but an elevated, memorable experience.

When I'm not immersed in the world of bridal beauty, you’ll find me pouring energy into The Kingsbury Arts & Event Center located in Howe, Indiana—helping bring community events & creative experiences to life in a historic space full of heart.

I’m also a mom of three, an occasional bookworm, a reluctant gardener, and a firm believer that dancing solves most things.

 HOW DO I BOOK SOMETHING BLUE Stylists FOR MY WEDDING?

To secure your date, a retainer must be submitted. Retainers are 50% of the bridal package, and are applied fully to the bridal package total. Retainers are non-refundable & non-transferable. Weddings & stylists are booked first come, first serve, based on when a retainer is paid. Due to our high demand, we are unable to inform brides if another bride has inquired about their date after their initial inquiry. Submitting an inquiry does not in any way secure your date. Most of our brides are securing their wedding date 12-18 months advance.  

 Can I book hair or makeup only?

At this time we are no longer accepting hair  or makeup only weddings. 

 CAN I BOOK the minimum & HIRE ANOTHER ARTIST TO DO THE REST OF MY BRIDAL PARTY?

Due to our exclusivity clause, we do not work with other hair or makeup artists, and reserve the right to be the sole hair and/or makeup provider for each wedding. In the event that another hairstylist or makeup artist is secured, a $250 forced collaboration fee will be added to the final total. 

 CAN I BOOK THE MINIMUM & HIRE ANOTHER ARTIST TO DO THE REST OF MY BRIDAL PARTY?

On your wedding day we always come to you!  Our base travel fee is $100. Your travel fee total is based on your lead stylists home location. Parking and valet fees are charged to the bride on the wedding day if validation is not available. If travel time is deemed to be extensive (2 hour+ one way), a hotel stay is required.

When can I schedule a preview appointment?
can my MOM or bridesmaids have a preview?

We suggest booking your preview appointment 6-8 weeks prior to your ceremony. We finalize timings & number of service on this date, so you will need this information at the end of your appointment. You do not need this information, however, when securing your date, keeping our service minimums in mind. Bridesmaids and mothers requesting preview appointments must schedule the same day as the brides preview appointment, and these appointments are subject to availability. If your preview is less than 30 days prior to your wedding, your lead stylist will reach out at the 30 day mark to confirm final headcount and timings to complete your Wedding Day Services Contract. All final balances are due 30 days prior to your wedding.  Due to our stylists busy weekend schedule, preview appointment schedules and location options can vary from artist to artist. Requests for on-location preview appointments are subject to availability, and will incur an additional fee.

Your stylist will do a thorough verbal consultation at the beginning of your preview to help determine which style is going to be best, based on many different factors. Many brides have an idea of what they want, but for those that are not sure, we recommend looking through our extensive portfolio for ideas before the preview to see what type of looks appeal to them. You'll usually find yourself leaning towards a particular look over & over again. Bring these photos to your appointment & we'll be able to help you find the perfect wedding day look for you.

 WILL WE DO MORE THEN ONE STYLE OR LOOK AT MY PREVIEW APPOINTMENT?

WHAT IF I AM NOT HAPPY AFTER MY PREVIEW?

The most critical part of a preview is open, honest communication. Subtle changes can make all the difference, making you look & feel like the bride you've always dreamed! So please speak up at your preview, because we're here to help! In the rare case that you're still unhappy, you are not obligated to use our services. If a contract is not signed at the end of your preview, your date is immediately released for other bookings. If you later decide that you would like to use our services & you feel the need for a 2nd preview, they are available at the normal rate.

WHAT IF I AM NOT HAPPY AFTER MY PREVIEW?

DO YOU OFFER AIRBRUSH APPLICATION? 

Something Blue Stylists is a highly qualified team of award winning artists and stylists. We offer both classic makeup application as well as airbrushing. Not sure which is right for you? We can help you decide! We are proud to use a wide range of professional grade products that have incredible staying power. We use products that are waterproof, smudge-proof, and HD photo/video friendly. Some of the professional products we carry include Face Atelier, Makeup Forever, Temptu, Sian Richards, RCMA, By Terry, Viseart, Sonia Roselli, Kevyn Aucoin, and Ben Nye. Our selection of professional products will be able to compliment any bridal style. Not only will you look flawless in your photos, but you'll be the picture of perfection in front of your guests. There is no additional fee for airbrush application, as we want to choose the best option for each client.

We always take into consideration each brides personal style when selecting a wedding day look. This is going to mean something different for every bride, & it is our job as your stylist to find that perfect wedding day look for you

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DO EVERYONE?

Our wedding day system is a well oiled machine. We typically schedule 30-45 minutes per service and 45-60 minutes per service for the bride. All weddings are kept within a 4 hour time block. In the case of larger bridal parties, additional artists will be secured and an additional artist fee of $200 is added to your final total for each additional artist. There is an Early Call Time fee of $100/hour added per stylist for any start time prior to 8 am. 

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DO EVERYONE?

We have a 6-service minimum for all weddings.  This minimum is per service,  not per person (i.e. a bridesmaid receiving makeup + hair would be 2 services). For hair or makeup only weddings, we have an 8-service minimum.

For larger bridal parties, an additional artist must be reserved. An additional artist fee of $200 is added to your final total per additional artist. To ensure a stress-free experience for you and your ladies, larger parties and/or time constraints on wedding days require the help of these highly trained & skilled artists.

 WHAT IS THE ADDITIONAL ARTIST FEE?

Mini Lipcolor, Blotting Papers, 2 Bobby Pins, Hair Elastics, & Mints. Beginning in September 2023, mini touch up kits will be included with all makeup services.
